As part of
Cairo University's celebrations of the 52nd anniversary of the
glorious October victory, the Faculty of Economics and Political
Science hosted Major General Dr. Engineer Osama El-Gamal,
Advisor to the Higher Military Academy for Postgraduate and
Strategic Studies, to give a seminar titled: “Egypt 52 Years
After the Victory”.
Prof. Dr.
Hanan Mohamed Ali, the Acting Dean of the College, welcomed the
esteemed guest and praised his participation, which aims to
enhance students' awareness and connect them with significant
milestones in the nation's history. The college also honored him
in appreciation of his contributions and role in enriching the
academic discussion about one of the greatest battles of Egypt
and the Arabs.
During the seminar, Major General El-Gamal reviewed the epic of
the October War of 1973, emphasizing the bravery of the Egyptian
soldier and the miracle of planning, training, and continuous
work that preceded the battle and paved the way for the great
victory. He explained to the audience, especially the students,
that the October victory was not the result of a moment, but
rather the fruit of diligent strategic work at the military,
political, and popular levels.
The college confirmed that organizing such events is part of its
mission to deepen national belonging among students and to link
academic curricula with real and historical experiences that
reflect the strength and leadership of the Egyptian state.
